Walk into Virtual Reality
In the improving technology of virtual reality, there are a lot of hurdles which are remained unsolved. But one of these problems in virtual reality has been solved by the researchers, which will be helpful in making great improvement in user experience and, that are enabling an immersive virtual experience while being physically limited to one’s actual and real world space.
These findings of the researchers with Private M Tech Colleges in Jaipur have been published in many news papers in which it is reported that it gives the virtual reality users a perception of the infinite walking in the virtual world as they are limited to the small physical space. This technology of the researchers also enables walking experience for users more efficient without any kind of discomfort which typically tied to the physical movement in virtual reality.
Through this technology, the users can avoid bumping into the objects in the physical space in the virtual reality world. For this purpose, the researchers have focused on manipulating a walking direction of the users by working with the basic natural phenomenon of the human eye which is known as saccade.
These saccades are the immediate eye movements which occur at the time when we look at the different point in field of vision such as scanning a room or viewing a painting. These generally occur without any control and multiple times per seconds. During that time, our brain generally ignores the visual input in the phenomenon which is known as saccadic suppression.
It can leave us completely obvious to our temporary blindness as well as the motion which are performed by eyes. According to the researchers, in the virtual reality, they have the potential to display vast universes although the physical spaces in our homes as well as offices are much smaller.
As per the researchers and Best Engineering College in Kukas, it is the nature of the human eye that it can scan a scene by moving rapidly between the points of fixation. It has been suggested by the researchers that if they rotate the virtual camera slightly at the time of saccades, then they could direct the user’s walking direction to stimulate a larger walking space.
